What’s the difference between a fog lamp, a driving lamp, and a spot lamp?

Fog lamps are designed to distribute the light in a wide pattern with an emphasis on foreground lighting (the majority of the light is kept close to the vehicle). Driving lamps are designed to through the light down the road similar to a high beam function. Spot lamps are very narrow beams of light designed to light the furthest distance from the vehicle. The following is an example of the differences in lit distance from the vehicle for the Oscar product:
Oscar Fog Lamp provides a lit distance of 40 meters
Oscar Driving Lamp provides a lit distance of 400 meters
Oscar Spot Lamp provides a lit distance of 480 meters

What’s the best lamp for my application?

The answer is in your driving style and personal preferences.
Do you prefer a wide beam pattern with most of the light relatively close to your vehicle? If so, then a fog pattern is probably going to work fine for you. Fog patterns are especially good for driving on country or winding roads as they provide the widest beam patterns.
Do you prefer to have more light down the road? Then a driving lamp pattern is probably going to work for you. Driving lamps provide good spread and good down road lighting. Or if you drive on long straight roads and want as much light as possible as far down the road as possible, then the spot lamp pattern is for you.
